Progress of Macau Power Plant Demolition Project

In order to achieve a better utilization of the rare land resource, the Government of Macau SAR decided to take back the Macau Power Plant. Relevant demolition works were started in order, in which the environmental impact assessment was completed in the third quarter of 2016. All demolition works are expected to complete in the third quarter of 2018. The overall progress of relevant demolition works are as follows:

Item Current progress
To carry out relevant Environmental Impact Assessment. EIA was completed in the third quarter of 2016.
Preparation works, including plants transfer, cleaning fuel oil storage tanks, etc. Relevant works was completed in the first quarter of 2017.
Approval of demolition project and obtain the working license. The working license was received on 2017/04/27.
Demolition and removal of Asbestos Containing Materials. All removal and disposal works were completed already.
Demolition of facilities, including generating unit and auxiliary equipment, etc. All old diesel engine, medium speed diesel engine and gas turbine generating units were dismantled by the end of 2017.
Demolition mega structures, including generating room, fuel oil storage tanks, stack, boundary wall, waste water treatment plant, chemical storage, water storage tanks, fuel oil treatment plant, auxiliary boiler, fire pump station, cables and trenches, fuel oil transfer pipelines, control building, etc. All mega structures were removed by the end of May 2018.
Soil decontamination. All soil decontamination works were completed by the end of June 2018.
Construction of drainages of CEM building. Construction of new drainage system was undergoing.
Completion of all demolition works. All relevant works were completed by the end of June 2018.
